New Roots Nursery is a 3/4-acre backyard nursery growing and operating out of Wilmington, NC with a wide selection of houseplants, perennials, flowering shrubs, trees, and always expanding with new and exciting plants!
Good morning New Roots Nursery fam! Thanks for visiting our blog & website! We are New Roots Nursery, currently a backyard growing operation out of Wilmington, NC specializing in houseplants, perennials, flowering shrubs, small trees, and much more! About us - New Roots is operated by myself (Matt Wetmore) and my partner (Grace Greenland)! Our story began in 2022 where I met Grace and fell in-love with gardening/plants with more vigor than ever before. Our business started simply sharing our love of houseplants out of each of our respective apartments. We dated for over a year via long distance and spent weekends shopping at nurseries, repotting plants together, and learning to propagate. Grace's Wi-Fi was aptly named "Plant Mom" while mine was "Wetmore's Jungle".

Why New Roots Nursery?
Our current inventory consists of an array of both flowering plants and simply beautiful foliage plants. This includes perennials, shrubs, houseplants, herbs, some vegetables and much more! Our inventory also includes some hand-picked and propagated rare houseplants which are a fantastic addition to any plant lover's collection.
Grace and I have sourced and collected our plants from nurseries all over the country! We've also learned to grow and propagate our own plants from cutting/seed and will be expanding our availability largely for spring and early season 2025.
