What do you guys sell for plants? We get this question a lot and today I want to take a minute to talk about our plants, current inventory, and goals/plans for the future!!
New Roots Nursery began with a passion for houseplants and indoor gardening. Owners Matt & Grace began in apartments where space was limited, longevity was not guaranteed, and planting in the ground was simply not possible.
As we grew our container vegetable gardens in the summer, houseplants became our favorite to keep us happy, moving, and optimistic about the future! Our current collection of personal plants is several hundred or more!! We've spent years now learning to care for, propagate, treat a large number of pests/disease and create ideal environments/micro-climates for our plants both indoors and out.
In early 2024 we moved into our home and started New Roots Nursery. With our greenhouse and a property with 3/4 of an acre - we're now learning and growing a large variety of plants that are new to us and have a beautiful combination of both in-ground gardens and container plants all over!
Our yard allows for us to grow both full-sun flowering plants such as Texas Star Hibiscus, Swamp Rose Mallow, Bearded Iris, as well as shade lovers like Hosta, Toad Lily, and lots more!
The greenhouse allows us to grow and maintain a healthy, larger inventory of tropical houseplants year-round including many of our favorites; Spider Plants, Snake Plants, Begonias, Monstera, Philodendron, and many more! But don't worry, inside our home is a jungle too and many of our houseplants do GREAT indoors year-round. With our help/guidance you can grow as large of a collection as you desire!!
